  • Deliver structured online chess lessons to students of various skill levels
  • Lead fun, interactive classes that keep elementary students engaged
  • Use Ulamaify’s curriculum to teach chess fundamentals and promote good sportsmanship
  • Facilitate and supervise engaging chess activities during live sessions
  • Manage a positive, well-structured online classroom environment
  • Guide student behavior with patience, clarity, and encouragement
  • Encourage problem-solving, creativity, and critical thinking through chess
  • Assist in organizing and supporting online tournaments, open-play sessions, and club events
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with students, parents, and team members
  • Provide a welcoming and supportive experience for all students and families

Qualifications

  • Genuine interest in chess; strong grasp of chess fundamentals. 
  • Ability to clearly explain piece movement, basic strategy, and simple tactics in an age-appropriate way
  • Experience working with children (teaching, tutoring, coaching, camp counseling, or similar) preferred
  • Comfortable leading a class independently and creating engaging, interactive online sessions
  • Professional, positive, and kid-friendly demeanor
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills; able to interact effectively with students, parents, and team members
  • Ability to guide behavior, keep students engaged, and maintain a structured learning environment
  • Passion for being a positive role model and promoting good sportsmanship
  • Strong organizational, punctuality, and time-management skills
  • Ability to connect chess problem-solving to real-life critical thinking skills
  • Reliable internet connection and a suitable setup for teaching online
  • Willingness to complete required background check and training
